10% off all Month and some Alphabet Junction inspiration

We seem to have forgotten about Spring and roared right into Summer here in Queensland. The fine, warm and blue-sky filled days have been here for several weeks now, with more of the same predicted for October.
So it’s time to start thinking about lazy days at the beach, flip flops, cool iced drinks and … dare I say it … Summer holidays!! (and no, I am not going to call them the “C” word). So drag out your beach and summer sport photos, make yourself an iced tea and sit down in a cool spot to enjoy some scrapping.

Your free gift this month is 10% off ALL orders during October

You MUST enter October at checkout to receive your discount.
NOT AVAILABLE for classes and gift certificates (please complete these in a separate order)

Hi  Lisa here today

Wowser I have really enjoyed playing with these papers. First of all I have to mention the quality of the papers - if you love the thickness, texture and feel of the My Minds Eye and Crate paper papers - you will love these Alphabet Junction papers by Carta Bella!

Initially I thought I might get some old pics of the boys when they were little but as I was rifling through by zillion photos I found a series of photos from when I was very young so that is what I have gone with!! The papers are perfect for my old black and white pics!
I started with Kraft cardstock - I always have a supply on hand as I love the stuff - you can use it for everything!

I used the Alphabet handwriting paper and cut it to 10 inches by 10 inches.
Using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink I inked all the edges. I am a Tim Holtz junkie and I own so many of his distress inks and Tracy has the best prices ever!!!

I then took the Tossed letters paper and cut it with a craft knife using a sweeping stroke. I then cut another piece of the same paper but used the reverse side so they can be stuck together and adhered to the top of the Alphabet handwriting paper.
I have distress inked all the edges with the Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.
I have then taken some blue ric rac and adhered that following the first sweep where the papers meet. This just gives a bit more texture and interest to the background.

I have then matt my photo using the green side of Alpha cards . I have cut down my photo and cut out the TODAY banner from another of the cards and adhered it to the bottom of my green matt. I have then used foam mounting tape to raise this matt photo up off the page.If you don't have foam tape use a piece of card or pizza box to raise it up

I then handcut the banner from the Alphabet Banner paper and I have adhered this randomly across the lower section of the page. Again I have used foam mounting tape to raise the banner up from the page....

I have then gone to the Sticker sheet and selected a journal box which I have slipped in under my photo and adhered the title "Those were the days".

I have used one of Tracy's funky green buttons and attached some twine before attaching it to the side of my journalling. I have then taken another sticker from the Alphabet junction sticker sheet and raised it on a banner at the bottom of my photo.

Add any journalling and you are done!

LISA
