Kaisercraft Pickled Pear - Live, Laugh, Love & Be Happy

Hi there, it's Michele here again, this time with another layout made with the lovely Kaisercraft Pickled Pear Collection.

This one is a more traditional layout, taking advantage of the lovely pale greens, pale yellows and soft blue/greys of these papers while still using some of the contrasting black. I think the papers match my photo really well - coincidentally taken at Palm Beach in Sydney and matching the October Beach theme.
Yes, I realise it's November now, but in my defence, I started this layout in October :)

The background paper is the lovely, delicate Fig which features a large old fashioned camera in the corner. I cut around the front piece of the camera and tucked the pretty half of the Lime Die Cut paper behind it, first inking the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink.

My next two layers are a fairly big piece of the reverse of Quince which is also inked with Black Soot around the edges, and a smaller piece of Chartreuse (oos). Instead of inking, this already black layer is scraped along the edges with an emery board - the same treatment that I have given the photo.

Tucked in at the bottom corner of the photo is part of an Alterations Weathered Clock, die cut from the reverse of Chartreuse (oos) and inked with Black Soot. The other part is at the top of the page with a 'Memory' die cut piece from the Pickled Pear Collectables pack in its centre.

Further embellishing this top corner are a butterfly and two word banners, 'Live, Laugh, Love' and 'Be Happy', from the Collectables pack, all inked with Black Soot Distress Ink, two Acrylic Cabochon Flowers in Green and Gold and a my2angels Antique Bronze and Green Charming Floral. These blend perfectly with the colours in the patterned papers. My Charming Floral is a little different to the one pictured in the store - instead of a brown rose in the centre it has a tiny cream and green one from the Mixed Green Roses pack.

There are two clusters of embellishments at the bottom of the page under the photo. The first has, as its base, a bunch of flowers from the Collectables pack. I have cut the plain edge completely away from it, making it look a little more delicate and giving me space to tuck in some extra embellishments. The edges are again inked with Black Soot.
The two pears are from the Pickled Pear Stickers sheet and the green butterfly and the 'L' Cabochon are from the Collectables pack. The 'L' has a 16mm Transparent Glass Cabochon stuck on to it with Glossy Accents.
The bracketted 'Live, Laugh, Love' sentiment is cut from the top corner of Quince.
In addition to the large pale yellow Mini Gardenia, there are three more Acrylic Cabochon Flowers, Green and Gold again, with the addition of a Black & Gold. The small black rose is an Aluminium Flower Bead.
An Antique Bronze Camera Charm is strung onto a piece of Cream Organza Ribbon which I twisted and wove under and around the flower die cut. I think this piece of ribbon helps to soften the hard edge of the photo a little and it also links the two clusters of embellishments together, drawing the eye from one to the other.

The second cluster is also based on a fussy cut bunch of flowers - this one from the top corner of Quince - the same section of it as the bracketted sentiment was cut from.

The grey butterfly was on the Pickled Pear Sticker Sheet, as were the small oval piece of ephemera - 'Clarke's Mile End Cotton', and the larger '2'. The You & Me is from the Collectables pack and is again covered with a 16mm Transparent Glass Cabochon. These cabochons are fantastic...they make a plain little circle into something really special and come in seven (!!) sizes :)

There is another yellow Mini Gardenia forming the centre of this cluster and the two larger roses in there are Kaiser Paper Blooms. There are more of the same Acrylic Cabochon Flowers and Black Aluminium Flower Beads tucked in around them and as a finishing touch I have added three Cream with Soft Green 7mm Rose Buds.
